Well it's coming up the publishing date. I just cannot wait for tomorrow as i am finialy published. Yippeeeeeee.
Well i've been busy this week and last week, making some nice challenge pieces for eotr and beads -r -us forums.
I had a go at making a kumihimo necklace but instead of using japanese silk i used meter lengths of seed beaded strings of nymo.
I am going to list these in my shop sometime this week, and maybe some of the items i made for bead magazines bead soup.
On another note i did not win the abalone challenge but did come very close. since then i have entered the mime challenge, the space challenge and the citrine challenge. I think i may have a beading addiction...........O WELL who care's , at least i am a happy little beader.
Well I have decided to have a go at lampworking.
What's lampworking you say!. Well its an old art dating from Italy in the 1300. It involves melting soft glass onto a mandrel to form a glass bead. In Italy they have been making beautiful glass beads by hand for century's and there most prised work is call Murano glass.
ONE Murano glass bead made by hand can cost as much as £5.00 gbp. I am lucky to say i know quite a few wonderful artisan lampworker's in england and so i decided to have a go.
It is HARDER than you can imagen. And yes i burnt myself ,but after 3 cans of mapp gas i finally got a nice set of beads.
BEAD MAGAZINE.
Well I will be in issue 10 out on the 21st May. I will be featured in bead soup and I have also some photo's going in to the gallery pages.
I was nicely asked by my Hubby Phil to make something special for a friend of his , who's child is getting christened soon. Phil said a cross and chain would be nice ,so I made a nice cross and chain but I also made a special Anglican rosary as well.
I used some beautiful white silver catseye beads and some nice faux pearls and this is the finished Rosary.
An Anglican rosary has 33 beads in total . 1 bead for every year of Jesus's life .
